So I get home exhuasted from the mall and my DH is mowing the lawn, and it's nearly dark and what comes to our front door but about 5 kids. Oh crap we have no candy.. and I say im so sorry we dont have any, and they go ohh and ahh over the pup and I let them pet him, they turn and walk away and I dont feel TO awful because they seemed enamored byt the dog.. then the tallest one yells out to her parent down the driveway, "THEY SAID THEY DONT HAVE ANY CANDY!!"
Ohhh the shame...
(Update: DH finally arrived with candy.. the world is now safe)
The little vixen loves my having the computer in its own room, she has stolen my chair. Apparently this change in the house has benefited the cat most.. hehe..
I. Adore. Rowan. Calmer. It's like butter.. mmmm
The pup is jelouse and demands that he strike a pose and be seen. I am like a queen, surounded by her court.

So I am contemplating what I should wear for Halloween.. DH and I are going to see a favorite DJ of his at a club. I was thinking of trying to find a bright blue wig, ya know really slick hair (similar in shape to the hallowig on knitty.com) and short with bangs.
Then maybe a short black skirt, fishnets, and thigh-high black boots. Not sure about the top, something meshy and long sleeved. I could call myself a raver, a Goth, or find some random similar anime chick. My DH I think has always wanted to see me in thigh-highs.. he would also go Goth and all in black. We could both stop by the MAC makeup counter and have them snazzy us up.
This is PERFECT for the look I want:

Can I find it locally tho.. thats the question..
I crave more sushi..
I crave for a spinning wheel and all that cool spinning stuff everyone has been showing off latley..
I crave sushi..
I shall get neither..
Only took a month.. Ethen Allen customer service *sucks* in my opinion.
Click on the image to view it larger. It's richer in color then in this photo, and it also has a very nice suttle shine to it that this doesn't capture. So which color should I paint the walls? The blue or the green? After that which color should I get the comforter in? I'm thinking the blue..
I came home to find this strewn across my bedroom carpet...

My dog has very good taste, alpaca silk doesn't come cheap. The last stuff he got into and threw across the floor was hand dyed Australian wool that was $30 for one skein. Looks like he threw Fitz around some to..
S from work, whom I took the knitting class with.. I just taught her to purl and she caught on really good! Within 15 minutes she had this swatch created where she successfully did some stockinette stitch and then moved into a 2x2 rib!! I am so impressed by how quickly she got it!
In other news my knitting bag seems to have thrown up a needle and now it's gone missing.. I was going to work on fitz while I taught her but instead I had to sit and watch and be jelouse I wasn't able to knit to. I hope it's at home or in the car..
I was bad.. and ordered this off ebay. Pay Pal is evil, it makes things to easy. We all know I have a thing for designs from oversea's..

I'm a sucker for anything with horses..
Update: I cast on for fitz's sleeve, lets hope I don't mess it up again.. I got about an inch into the rib.. BEDTIME!
Rowan Calmer is the marshmellow of the yarn world. Dee-lightful.

It's such a simple knit, I think I really enjoy lace. I never thought it would be something I would want to knit, but here I am!!
Update: I just went away from this post and came back to it to view it and I thought, oh my dear goodness, I KNIT THAT!!! Holy cow! Oh and BY THE WAY I have been knitting just about exactly 6 months now. Dang I better finish that baby sweater..
We got this bin on sunday, it goes under the bed.
![]()
Here is my "current projects" basket we got form pier 1. You can see the glorious Calmer, now my favorite cotton yarn. It's like knitting with marshmellows.

A much better photo of the cascade 220.

The side table filled to the brim.

We still need to paint the walls in the bedroom and pick out new linens, comforter, towls etc.. but I have to save more money before we can do that.. and of course we are waiting on *the chair* to arrive.
I leave you with a photo of the tree's outside the window at my desk.

This girl doesn't apear to need any more yarn..
These are very bad pictures but I have to show you all!
Very cool tv cabinet from peir 1. Cool balls on top, and the neat asian inspired vase to the left is from Garden Ridge. B put cat tails and grass it in and it looks all snazzy. All of that was very inexpensive. The vase I think was like $14.

Close up of the neat decoration

Horrible pic of the whole room. I'll get a better one tonight.

Here is the pup's new toy box. I love it because it hides the gas thingy and a plug next to the fireplace.
![]()
Close up of our asian inspired "shanghi" trunk (pier 1) we picked out to be our coffee table.
![]()
Here is a bad pic of the tree we picked out. We got the base seperatly and the moss to put in it and lights.

Here is us shopping for the tree

It was $40 which I think was a score!

by day I am an Information Architect and by night I am a knitter. My favorite place is to knit in bed with the dogs at my feet and on a rare occasion the cat on my pillow, if she's in the mood!
I went to two LYS's today with my good friend B whom is here from NC. We got her yarn to make the simple shunky garter stitch scarf fromm SnB, and I got some cascade 220 to make the Alien scarf.
I swatched Cozy up on some of the Debbie Bliss and Rowan yarns I had snagged from Strings & Strands a few months ago. It's always a great idea to grab 1 skein of like 5 different yarns and have them around for swatching to see if they work well. Rowan's Calmer worked fantasticly for the Cozy (knitty.com) wrap!
It's in a great blue that matches my eyes!

I bought two skeins of an earthy turquise in the *new* Alpaca Silk from Debbie Bliss. It's so darn soft.

I got the cutest pale yellow circulars needle holder.

Today's color was blue it seems, oh and I got my SP3 their final gift.. I don't know when to send it.. ack! I'm sorry the colors are kinda wack, it's nearly midnight and we are jamin in the guest bedroom cooking up a website for her mom!
Well today at work was nutty.. no more nuts then yesterday but just hard to keep up with. So much talking that I don't have time to do what I need to do. Very good conversations, and needed conversations but just make me feel stagnent.
At around noon I got to teach D how to knit. She was laughing the whole time amazed at how the yarn was slipping and I think the whole thing just flabergasted her. Hopefully she will practice and get more comfortable, and S will motivate her and soon she shall be a knittin' freak like us!
I got an Ocular Migrain about an hour ago and had to endure it through a meeting, and so just now finally I took a pill for it, but I need a NAP badly. My good friend is in town and at our house now and I know she wants to do somthing crazy tonight but I think we will have to wait till saturday. I'm bushed.. the most I can handle I think is going out to eat mexican.
Good news, we are going to the yarn stores tommorow!! I hope I'm not a bad girl.. but maybe I'll pick out my SP3's last gift!!
Well at work there is one lady we will call S, whom I helped teach to knit. S is the lady who I took the knitting class with. It was lots of fun and she and I talk about knitting whenever we can on the random days where we can get away for lunch, or I go to her desk and check out her scarves.
So she spoke to some other ladies and spread the knit bug.. now a lady we will call D went and purchased some yarn and needles. She got size 5, 3, and 9's. It was funny when I told her that the ball of yarn would say on it which size needle. She was all flabergasted "Awe man! why did I buy all these?!"
So she says "oh it says a crochet hook, opps", I then pointed out on the label where it said the knit size needle she's all like "How the heck do they expect people to see that on there!" Very cute.
She picked out a soft and fluffy mohair-ish yarn. She wants to knit it up on smaller needles.. and though I think she should use the 8's it reccomends I told her to do whatever she wanted. Tommorow at lunch I'm going to help her make a plan. There is no way for her to understand how the needle size makes a difference till she finds out. Like S is remaking one of her original items on larger needles to make the fabric looser. The only way to learn is to try.
She also wants to make her son a scarf and put his intials on it or something, which I think would be totally cute. Might be hard for her to do intersia (sp?) on her first scarf, but anything is possible if you try! So S and I will spread knitting further into the corporate world! MUHAHAH! You shall be asimilated!
I made progress on the scarf last night, not near as much as I would have liked.
I work on a computer all day for 7 years and I have never experienced any kind of pain. When I first started knitting I knew I was holding my hands to hard and it was effecting me a bit but I took it easy.
Sence I started doing Yoga and "Downward Dogs" my hand has been hurting. The actual muscles burns. I'm praying its not the onset of a chronic problem like carpel tunnel, but my wrists don't hurt. It's like the muscles running a few inches down from my wrist on the top part of my arm/hand, all the way to where the fingers start. All on TOP of the hand. Sounds like maybe I straigned the tendons for the finger movment?? Fingers don't actually hurt tho.
Between the pinky and the next finger over hurts like heck if I try to stretch it in the yoga position, yet if I lean against a wall with my fingers spread it doesn't hurt even the slightest.
I wonder if I should go to a doc, or stop knitting, or stop doing downward dogs. Stupid yoga teacher forced me to spread my fingers, now I've been messed up for nearly 2 weeks. I would like to hit her on the head. To bad I already paid up for so many lessons. I would rather try somewhere else. I can type tho and my left hand feels weird but doesnt hurt, it's all only in my left hand that the issue is.
Alas, I have yoga tonight, and while I LIKE IT, I worry about my hand... I guess I'll tell her that next time I say something hurts, don't make me do it CAUSE YOU BROKE ME YOU HOE!
:(
It ends on my freakin birthday! ACK IS MY BIRTHDAY THAT CLOSE?? OMG!!! ARGHK!!@!@*!@()*
Anways I find it very funny the last day is my b-day. Now I have to think of something else to get my SP3, my pal was perty darn clever with that gift coupon thingy she(?) gave me for ebay. I kinda wanna gank the idea and do it for mine.. hehe
I can't believe it lasts a whole other month, now I gotta think of another cute present for my person. I read in the SP3 newsletter that the over sea's people sometimes just do one big present, I am trying to think of a good way to go out with a bang without breaking the bank. I am thinking, should I do two more small things or one bigger one?? Humm...
I could have had the entire sleeve knit by now... I was thinking to myself, how weird this sleeve is only increasing on one side, that doesn't seem like it would be best.
Thank goodness for good instincts (aka common sence). So this means I'll have to start over for a 4th, yes that's right, 4th time. This time I was not increasing on both sides, or as the pattern said "each side" ehem..
I had to document atleast one of my mess ups.. proof to you that I have indeed worked on it, SEVERAL TIMES!!!

I purchased some cute new PJ's from Target when I stopped to get trashbags. I got my husband a mouse (wireless/optical), cause he got me roses today. One good deed deserves another! I'll post a pic of the roses cause I have to document my husband getting me roses, cause well it's a special event! It has little raindeer on it.

Before I cast on for fitz's sleeve I need something different to knit on before I go mad from noro. I'm gonna work on a baby alpaca scarf for my mother.
![]()
In other news, most of the furniture is sitting in the living room, we are still waiting on the coffee table(aka trunk) from peir 1 to come in, and the extra special knitting chair. I need to clean the bedroom and paint it and get a new comforter.. so much to do.. and all I want is to knit..
Sorry no photos to show atm..
Keeping a blog really makes me aware of how many days we have in the week, as I struggle with titles for entries on mondays and saturdays. Those two days I seem to have the least creativity for titles. Maybe because on monday I'm thinking, "Ah gee wiz it's monday again.." and on saturday I am thinking "heck yeah man it's saturday!" so that seems to not leave much room for anything else.
This weekend I cast on for the sleeves, I opted to do 1 at a time sence it's my first sleeve. Probably best I did. I had to frog it twice. First time I was about 8 inches into the sleeve and I increased wrong. For one thing it was my first time increasing on an actual project, and I also read the pattern wrong. I increased every row for about 4 inches after the ribbing and as it turned into a triangle I realized.. agh crud. I was supposed to increase every 4th row.
So I frogged back to nearly the ribbing and went another 4 inches. It was past midnight, I should have known better. It looked like crud because the first time I frogged I didn't frog far enough. Ribbit, Ribbit. So in total I frogged 8 inches, and with a sleeve that only had to be 16, that was half the work out the window. So now I am back at about 6 inches or so. Being wise and taking my time, and it looks much nicer to.
Also if I inc 1 st at the end of every 4th row, arn't I always increasing on the same side?? Won't that be weird??
The pup kept stealing my sheep measuring tape. I hide it in my knitting bag and the dog stuck his skinny nose into the bag when I was in the bathtub, snuck it out without disturbing the bag or the sweater half that it was under. There I found the sheep in the middle of the floor, looking very dead. It still works tho, but the fur is all matted and he looks like a sheep with a mohawk.
I have just bound off the front of fitz and rolled my next skein of noro in preperation for the "sleeve island" as everyone effectionatly (?) calls it. Woot Woot!! How much ya wanna bet that I can finish one sleeve this weekend? First tho, math! My arm is 10 inches at the top and 5 at the wrist.. (gets her calculator out)...
It's supposed to get around 60 degree's today. Whoah nelly it got chilly fast here in georgia. I'm sure we will still have some rebound warmer days...
I'm not feeling so hot today and I am afraid it's going to keep me from a fun filled weekend. We have a pictionary party to go to tonight and after that a birthday party at a club downtown. I don't think I can dance with my girl woes hassling me today. I was supposed to go to yoga (FYI I hurt my hand last time and I think somethings wrong with me eek!) and I was supposed to go pick up the rest of our furniture.
I was supposed to then clean and arrange said furniture, stop by the LYS for stitch markers for gerbera.. etc etc.. yet here I sit, with the urge to not wear pants (pajama pants are so much cooler). I DONT WANNA DO ANYTHING!!!!!!! WAAAAAA!!!
lol :P
Last night I stayed up till 2:30 am getting through the whole first 8 rows in Cozy, only to realize I had cast on way to many stitches, then this morning I frogged it before I remembered to measure my super swatch.. so I think I'll just cast on the 85 required and mine will just be thinner.. because I realized that pattern calls for like 800 yards and my twinkletoes yarn comes with 500.. I don't really care I just want to finish the damn thing..
I found it an easy knit, and I apparently am super fast at lace. So I like knitting lace! At least this pattern..
So you have bloglinks hooked up, cool little knit-a-long banners on your site and a weather pixie. Your just all hooked up with bloggy goodness.
Check out this cool blog tool. Gravatar, yup I just might have started a new trend in the knit blog world. Go for it girls!!

In other news:
Earthy yarn site
Last night I did all my counting for fitz and made sure the two peices where the same height. Lets hope I got it right, then I bound off the shoulder edges and I only have to knit 2 inches till the next step and divide for the v-neck. I'm very nervouse but resistng the urge to mess with the measurments any.
I have decided to do the lacey scarf in the green yarn sence it's less variated and will show off the pattern better. Also my husband likes the green and it will look nice with my hair and the color of most of my clothing right now. I am all about the greens.
So in turn I spent atleast an hour last night winding the hank into a ball and then re-winding it because some pieces looked stretched outi n the ball. My husband thought I was nuts to re-wind it, but I can't stand the thought of streting and ruining the yarn.
In other prospective knits I found an adorable "dress" shift, sleevless from Vogue Knitting 1962. It calls for:
Brunswicks Fairhaven Fingering Yarn, which I found out was 100% WOOL 1OZ = 185 approx yardage from this great link.

Thar be me swatch! Not a terribly good photo but I was very tired last night. I think I did PSSO correctly and it really was rather easy. In the LJ Knitting Community the creator of Cozy responded to my questions! She's really sweet, and informed me that it's in increments of 6+1 if any of you are planning on increasing the row count on Cozy.
So if I am doing this right I would have to say this pattern is far easier then those other ones I was trying. Knitty ranks it as Tangy which I wish that button/graphic linked to something that told you what those arbitrary words ment..
Have fun looking at my husbands hairy feet! They are stinky to! hehe..
Update: If your gonna do Gerbera or want more Sisik, check out this sale.
So Freud is talking about how what drives man is Happyness, or what men (women.. ehem) strive for in life is happyness, and that happyness is based on your values, wants and needs. He talks about for exampe happyness through esthetics, things like art. Or in our case, yarn and wool. These things make us happy, they are more visual and artsy in nature then a physical thing that makes us happy, yet they do effect us in a physical way, and hence a mental way.
He also talks about drugs, but well I have smoked a dubby and eaten a brownie in my youth, but I was not an unhappy person. So why did I "do drugs", well because people doing drugs, and drinking heavily doesn't simply mean that person is unhappy. It bascially has to do with this;
"What we call happyness in the strictest sence comes from the (preferably sudden) satisfaction of needs which have been damed up to a high degree, and in its nature is only possible as an episodic phenomenon... We are so made that we can derive intennse enjoyment only from a contrast and very little from a state of things."
So this is why rich people arn't always happy, because it's simply the state of things. So bascially what he is saying, people get bored a lot.
lol
Do you think this is a good lace pattern to try? Simple YO's and the only thing I can't identify is PSSO.
I think I'll have to enlarge the width since it's fingerweight yarn. I think my SP3 yarn would look very pretty in that pattern.
Anyone know why it tells me to use circular needles?? It doesn't apeare to be worked in the round, weird.. it also doesn't say what weight yarn that stuff is. I hate that.
Update: I got so many helpful comments to this entry, and so fast to.. THANKS everyone. I may try to cast on tonight.. if I'm not to consumed by finishing up the front of fitz, which I am also excited about.
Welp I am just about to the underarms on fitz, well I am at the shoulders I mean, but I am to tired to count and make sure I am on the exact correct row.
Woot woot! Home Stretch!
I am so completly depressed now. Me and my mom loved to watch his movies together while I was growing up. So sad..
My thoughts of silk garden are still fairly negative. In the front of the sweater so far I have found two knot ties (breaks I suppose) in them, thats 2 out of 3 balls, and I know I remember 1 on the back at least.
I see all these pretty noro colorways in blogs, this one dark purple one with grays and blacks, and another that seems to be various shades of blue.
I don't think I'll ever buy silk garden again, but maybe some of the cheaper ones. It's simply not at all worth $11 a skein for how much it has in it and for the quality, and I don't think I'm into varitated yarns enough to fancy it.
Me and the Mr. went and got some more furniture today, cheaper stuff then before so we could save some money. We got stuff from Peir 1 for the living room. Last night we went to his parents house for a party and it was nice. As ushual his mom stresses me out a bit, I felt like our relationship was better before the wedding. I hate that she seems hostile towards me sometimes.
She likes to come over and like do things for us, and I'm sorry but I don't enjoy someone who is not my mom doing my dirty laundry.. I also don't want family dong my taxes, or doing my yard work.
She's so very different from my mother. My mom would never come to my house and clean it, not in a million years.. so to me it's totally strange. She's very controlling and she has this terrible need to do things for her son or she doesn't feel helpful or something.
She sprayed weed killer all along the edge of our front beds and created a lovely 2 inch thick line of brown dead grass.. and I said to her SEVERAL times I was happy to have her come HELP us do chorse at the house but it's not something I want her doing alone.. like while we sit watching tv or while we are away. And I refuse to give her a house key, I was going to then my mom reccomended against it and I'm glad we didn't because she's just to into everything.
The reason I switched blogs was actually prompted by her getting upset I had posted wedding pics to my blog but had not emailed her any. Ugh I hadn't sent them TO ANYONE in my family, and I also said something person about the wedding I knew she could take badly. I quickly started this new blog so I could vent in peace.
So last night at their house she asked something and I said yeah my friend came and visited and helped us organize and decorate (opps damn why did I say that??? I am so dumb). "Oh, well why will you let her come help you, but you won't let me?"
GAH!!!
I had a quick reply tho because I know damn well why and I said "Because she did it with me, not without me" and DH spoke right up and said something similair like "She likes it if you work together."
I mean how strange is it to have someone clean your house like a maid while you sit on your ass? Hey I won't knock it but it's RUDE and wrong. Plus I am EMBRASSRED by our mess and I don't like HER the WOMEN seeing me not being a very good wife.. and trust you me it's all my fault... because DH "works so hard he needs his rest time" well excuse me I work to and I am not my husbands maid. So we are both lazy and the we are having to teach ourselves to get better. We plan on hiring an actual maid once we get the house to a point that a maid would be off help.
Step 1 is buying furniture to put all the books etc in and we are getting there! Okay well enough of a rant for now.. if your still reading this I would be very suprised..
I like his mom a lot prior to the wedding.. she's very lucky I don't have a good memory otherwise I would dislike her for a very long time. I find myself forgetting the cruel things she said. But underneath I won't ever forget. But I'll let it go, and I already have for the most part unless I think about it long enough to remember.
I searched for an illustrationg of YF and found some awsume photographs over here.
I can't seem to find one of a YB however, so I am stuck.. I'm not entirley sure I was doing it right.. with photos I can be sure.
Pics are grainy cause I have bad lighting and its a mini cam. I would have to say the "Mermaid" yarn was more blue then in the pic but overall a very accurate photo on ebay. However the "Meadow" was a much richer/brighter green nearly turquise then I imagined. They are both awsume tho!! They have awsume customer service and are very nice!

THANKS AGAIN SP3!!!
CNN.com tells it like it is. This is the kind of reporting I like. If you have never watched "The Daily Show" on the comedy channel, weekdays at 11pm, you really should.
John Stewart is the cutest Jewish man on the planet in my personal opinion. All that aside I think my generation is extremely cynical, and that article is exactly why we are. Lies, twisted truths and half truths. It makes me sick.
I have never liked our vice president I have seen proof of his lies on more then one occasion. Maybe he has a bad memory and doesn't remember contradicting himself but the least he could do is admit it and not claim it's not true. My mother is voting for bush but I have to tell you I just am not impressed by the man. He's not smart enough to answer tough questions. I am not gay, I don't know anyone in my family who is gay but I still believe we live in a FREE country and people should be free to do things that do not impede on the rights of others.
I found it interesting in last nights debate how Edwards said he and Kerry didn't think a marriage outside a man and a women was something that agreed with, but that they don't think marriage as a legal union should be changed to not allowed gay/lesbian couples to unite.
I did not know they "didn't agree with" it over all and found that interesting. I also found it interesting that Edwards said Chaney had a lesbian daughter, I had no clue. I also found it interesting he sounded like he didn't agree with bush, but he supports his president so be it.
I wonder what gay and lesbians think after last night, because prior to that I have seen a lot of "down with bush" stuff from the Lesbian Knitting blogs. I found it all rather odd, and I was not impressed by either man. Chaney just was straight up mean like a pit bull, Edwards was whiney and redundant. They both suck in my personal opinion.
If anyone replies to this post please be constructive. We are all entitled to our opinions.

Posted by Jamzer on livejournal.com, an amazing scarf.
I also found it worked by the Keyboard Biologist.
I hope they don't mind me posting pics, let me know if I should take them down!
So B came down to help me pick out things for our house because I am helpless by myself and need a girl friend to help me get motivated and actually do something..
So we went to Ethan Allen, which Is a very dangerous place to go because everything is so darn beutiful. I fell in love with an asian influenced bedroom set (a side table for the bed was $600) but alas I am not a millionar so I had to back away. On the way out we spotted a chair in the most wonderful fabric. It took my breath away. So then we spotted a cute low little soho chair that we new the fabric would look so wonderful on.
That is the chair as well as the otoman I got in the same fabric. I didn't get suade or leather or anything like that. Dog fur would stick to anything sticky, the fabric I picked out was called Sqiggle and they don't show it on their website or their mags so I have no way to show you.
Guess what, its in blue and green like the sock yarn I showed in the previous entry but it's very understated and has some coffee color in it. It was an expensive fabric, and expensive chair and well plainly put I should not have purchased it!! But I did.. lol.. so there we are. I now have a very sweet knitting chair. It will come in 8 weeks (argh.. thats to long!) but they custome make it for you and you pick out the fabric and the wood etc..
We also went to Thomasville and because I live near NC I get the big time low prices on their furniture (!) so we picked out a bedroom set (which goes nicley with the chair btw) so I'll post pics of it all together when I have it all set up perty. I will need to get a new comforter and then I will have a complete room!! That will make 2 complete rooms in the house!! Yeah!!
I find it very weird that furniture is in what appears to be a childs room.. it was not set up like that in the store!! Yay for a new bedroom!! A REAL bedroom! Right now we have.. umm.. no drawers what so ever.. everything seems to stay on the floor in piles..
EEEkkkkkk I was unable to post yesterday and all day today.. sorry.. comments didn't work and I couldnt post because CGI was down on the server I am hosted on.
I have such wonderful goodie-ness to share!
First A HUGE GIGANTICO THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TO MY secrete pal. I did not expect something else so soon! And it was a big gift to!! A $20 gift certificate for Over The Rainbow Yarns on ebay. I promptly sat down for about an hour looking over all their lovely stock. I got my husbands opinion and decided to try a different weight yarn then I am used to.
I then got the urge to try some lace knitting, because I think Gerbera has some lace going on and I'm motivated to make a fancy scarf from this free pattern.
I am very excited about this yarn! Not only was it a great gift but it was customizable! THANK YOU my sp3, you so freakin rule! Hope you liked what I picked out.. so perty blue and green.. I'm in a green color phase right now apprently..
Now to fill you in on my weekend, and a spiffy new knittin' chair!
I hardly got to knit at all because my good friend B came down to visit. Friday night when she arrived I took her to a local mexican resturant and then later DH showed up on his way home from work. It was a nice dinner, we stopped and got some Corona on the way home and rocked out at the house. Just sitting around being silly, playing with our dogs (she brought her cutie english spaniel I think it was) and drinkin.
They next day we went to the mall and all I got was a cute outfit for my newphew. Oh and I got the silliest antena for my new phone, it has flames and glows when it rings. Silly, but I love things that sparkle, in particular techno toys!
That night B and I got brave and decided to go to a "dive" that is located near my house. My husband won't even go near it or in it. Lots of motorcycles, and cowboy hats. B is from the COUNTRY (NC) so she said HECK YEAH LETS GO! So we got all dolled up (but we didn't want to be TOO dolled up mind you) and ventured on in. The place was huge inside and full of good-ol-boys.
Cowboy hats and mullets galore! We really wanted to play some pool and a nice young toothless guy let us play with him and his uncle. His uncle thought he was gonna teach me how to play pool (ya know the whole help ya hold the stick trick) but I somehow managed to dodge him. So B sets her eyes on a guy she thinks is cute and this guy I guess gets the vibe and he starts saying to the uncle "hey man thats a BS shot" cause well in pool you call your shot and if you get it in a different hole then you called it doesnt really count, or you loose your turn.
So uncle dude gets pissed at semi-cute blonde dude and about 5 minutes later slams his pool stick down on the table. About this time I slipped away and stood behind the entry way which was actually sorta behind the bar. B goes and grabs a bar guy and get uncle man kicked out of the room. Her plan has worked.. now we are 2 on 2. So I happily team up with toothless boy cause he actually has a sweet face and is not causing any trouble. He's respectful and a good drunk!
Oh did I mention I had a Red Headed Slut? It's a shot and it was darn yummy, but I had to watch my drinking because I needed to be sober to drive. So everything is fun now, fine and dandy.. and then semi-cute (I found him kinda gross personally, but B thought he was hot..) boy is asking me about have I been over the bridge (meaning to the next town over where all these guys seem to be from) and I said no. Then B goes to the bathroom and he says "So you've never been over the bridge" and grins so nasty, he has to keep askin me this and I'm like.. whatever dude.
He takes me hand up and says "you got this ring, you're all grown up and you've never been over the bridge?" (my wedding band) and i'm just getting creepy tingles up my spin cause this guy is just SAD SAD SAD and then he asks nice toothless guy is HE's ever been over the bridge, because he can't believe I havn't and I'm so about over this and then as I start to decide to walk away he says "I can take you both over the bridge" (which I believe he ment a threesom with my friend B) so I'm like.. yeah whatever, see you guys later. I left, ran to the bathroom and drag B outa there, a fun adventure indeed!
I think I'll save my knitting chair post for later tonight!
Well I finished the whole entire back to fitz while watching the debates last night. Go me!! yeah!! My next goal is to finish the front by next friday.
I wanted to take a pic today with my new techie toy but it won't let me email the pics to myself.. so here is a pictureless entry for ya.
I have been reading "Civilization & Its Discontents" by Freud. It's a very interesting book and not as hard to read as I thought it would be (however it has its moments), I find that reading about half a chapter at a time while in the bath makes it easier to understand and take it. I thought it was kinda neat that he breifly mentioned yoga and about how when you are doing yoga your kind of going back to when you where a child and the focus is on your body and its needs vs on the world around you and complex emotional issues.
Good stuff!
