Knit Click
Well at work there is one lady we will call S, whom I helped teach to knit. S is the lady who I took the knitting class with. It was lots of fun and she and I talk about knitting whenever we can on the random days where we can get away for lunch, or I go to her desk and check out her scarves.
So she spoke to some other ladies and spread the knit bug.. now a lady we will call D went and purchased some yarn and needles. She got size 5, 3, and 9's. It was funny when I told her that the ball of yarn would say on it which size needle. She was all flabergasted "Awe man! why did I buy all these?!"
So she says "oh it says a crochet hook, opps", I then pointed out on the label where it said the knit size needle she's all like "How the heck do they expect people to see that on there!" Very cute.
She picked out a soft and fluffy mohair-ish yarn. She wants to knit it up on smaller needles.. and though I think she should use the 8's it reccomends I told her to do whatever she wanted. Tommorow at lunch I'm going to help her make a plan. There is no way for her to understand how the needle size makes a difference till she finds out. Like S is remaking one of her original items on larger needles to make the fabric looser. The only way to learn is to try.
She also wants to make her son a scarf and put his intials on it or something, which I think would be totally cute. Might be hard for her to do intersia (sp?) on her first scarf, but anything is possible if you try! So S and I will spread knitting further into the corporate world! MUHAHAH! You shall be asimilated!
