Here we go again!!
So after purchasing that baby fabric online I was very pissed to only recieve half of it in the mail. Hancocks of Padukah or whatever can well... EAT IT! I HATE HATE HATE when websites let me order something that is out of stock, and then don't tell me.
So as it happened I spoke to my friend that very night, and she was telling me about the stuff she registered for, and how she just adores one of the pottery barn kids sets, but her signifigant other thought it was to expensive, she registered for it in the end.
Well as it turns out, it's a quilt!! She will be getting the blue because she is having a boy!

So I thought to myself, I could make that! I could even attempt to applique those white stars on. So I have no idea if she will like this, but that quilt costs $80 bucks, then with shipping and tax it probably comes to $100. I spent about $40 on the fabrics, and I think I will probably have enough to make more then one, or maybe a pillow or something cute. That includes the backing, binding, and I already have batting at home.
I have no idea if she will like it. I'll post pictures of the fabric later tonight. Our air is FINALLY working after a solid week of being in an 86 degree house. I got little to no crafting done this weekend because of it. I of course don't care if she still buys it, so I am hoping I don't offend her in any way by making it.
My big question is how to quilt it, that quilt pattern is so odd, I can't really make it out.
So I have until the 25th to finish this puppy, I better start cutting tonight, lots of tiny 3 inch sqaures!!

I think your friend is very lucky to have somebody make a quilt for her baby. I'm the only one who sews in my circle of friends and I'm to tired to quilt or crochet a blanket for my pumpkin due in October. It's a major struggle for me to get off the couch to use the restroom in this heat. I'm a Yankee not use to the GA heat and humidity. Can't wait to see pictures! And Happy Belated Anniversary! I'll be celebrating 16 years in September.
