Please give me your feedback!

Here is my first go at a design of my sewing site, I pruchased the domain and all that jazz. I would love feedback on the design. First it's the home page, then scroll down to the tutorial/article example. None of it is real content, it's all dummy stuff snagged from various places. I need some REAL tutorial's to put up! INDEED!!

i think its really rad, except right under the header, (im using a mac with safari) i am getting a 300px tall grey bar instead of it leading right into the little headers (tutorials, etc).
other than that, totally cool!
