Solid Socks Along
WINNERS!
The requirments of the KAL was to finish a pair of solid socks before the new year, and photograph them creativly.

Jan from Pass the slipped stitch over
I think Jan took this contest very seriously and took a very creative photograph, still life! Her socks are such a pretty pattern and lots of forethought went into them!

Coffee Crazy Knitters April
I love the photo of the socks on the bed. I can imagine April snuggling her feet under the covers feeling all happy cause she made her first pair of socks and her feet are all cozy.
Congratulations April & Jan! Please email me your mailing addresses so I can send you some socky goodness in the mail!
Sorry it took me so long guys, I'm not a very good KAL host.
As Socktober Fest is coming to an end, I decided to start my own Sock Along. Anyone want to join in? Please reply to this entry and I will add your name and post progress updates!!
This particular Sock Along is geared towards anyone knitting solid socks! I am a fan of solid, classic socks. The sock can be in ANY pattern, but the yarn needs to be a solid color. If it is hand dyed and has a very slight fade in color that is acceptable. The end date is new years eve!
Prizes
At the end I will offer a prize to whomever takes the coolest photo of a finished pair of socks, some nice fiber for your stash!
So far there are more then 50 people knitting solid socks, wow!
Here is a tutorial on how to knit 2 socks on 2 circs.

I'm interested. I've got a ball of denim type yarn begging to become socks. It isn't quite *solid* up close, but it isn't variegated, either.
April and Mica says;
Count us IN! Sounds like fun!
Jessica says;
Sounds fun! I've never done sock knitting before, but I have 2 balls of Bernat Sox yarn in my stash that has been staring at me!
Jacqui583 says;
I'll join in. Now that I'm finished my scarf I don't have an "on-the-go" project to carry in my purse. Socks would be perfect! Not to mention that I have about 7 skeins of sockweight yarn in my stash.
Ariane says;
Shoot! I'm on a yarn diet, I can't just go out and buy plain yarn...all I have is not plain. Oh, well, next time:o)
Have fun.
celia says;
I'd like to join in too!
Thanks
Katie says;
Hiya! I've never made a sock before, but am ready for the challenge and thought this would be tons of fun...can I join in? :)

Kerstin says;
Sign me up, Pixie! I've started a variegated sock for Sam (my 10 year old) but they should go fast. I've been eyeing up some solid indigo blue Koigu in my stash and I just picked up a new stitch book. So I guess the time is right. Love the buttons!
Nicole says;
Hi Pixie! I'd like to join... I just started some solid navy blue socks, this will be great to keep me motivated to finish by Christmas!!
Jacqui583 says;
Holy Hannah I see someone's done their socks already! Didn't this just start yesterday? Anyway I'm on my way with it, got my skein wound into a ball, spent the morning designing a pattern and now I'm clicking away. I've got the toe done (I prefer toe-up socks) and one repeat on my pattern stitches. I think these are going to be really pretty! Now I have to put down the knitting and go do something constructive around the house.
carrotbat says;
Saw the link for this on the Knitty board. I'd like to sign up. My socks may not be classic (I'm leaning towards orange) but they'll still be solid!
Ariel says;
Count me in! I'm turning the heel on the 2nd of my current pair of socks and planning to start a solid pair as soom I'm done with this sock!
