pretty new things

Well somehow I got hubby to go shopping and we got some new furniture!! YAY! I have wanted a new couch and proper chair for my living room for well.. years! I have a couch I bought from rhodes in college and while it matches pretty much any decor I put it in, it's BEYOND uncomfortable. It actually gives me a headache. We only have a 3 seat couch and no chair, so if we have anyone over there is very limited sitting space.

So for months we have been looking for a "chair" to put in the living room and well we found a chair, AND a couch!

It was a pretty darn good price and very good quality. The cushins underneath velcro to the bottom! So our big thing now will be, how the hell to keep the aniamls from ruining it. We are most worried about the cat, who won't let us clip her claws :(

In knitting news I finished the back of the silk top, but I am not feeling very motivated to start the front.

Congrats on the new furniture! It looks beautiful!

Well, I'd suggest trying SoftPaws on the cat, but if she won't let you trim her nails, I doubt she'll tolerate the application of these willingly.

Pixie Purls,
I love your new sofa and chair! Lucky you. Are the dogs going to sit on them?:)

look so comfy :-)

I got a leather sofa a few months ago and even though I knew it would happen, I did freak a bit the first time Lulu (my dog) put a big scratch in the leather. Rubbing it with my finger made it mostly disappear. Your cat probably won't scratch the leather on purpose since it's smooth.

I figure I have a dog so things will get wear & tear but I do keep a blanket for her to lay on.

Congrats on the new furniture! It's so "grown up"! One of these days we'll get some new living room furniture, too.

You have my furniture! Except I just double checked and mine is still downstairs. We have the sofa and two of the chairs. The cat hates the leather, so yours might too. Either way she probably won't scratch it on purpose. Just when taking off and landing.

Woo-hoo! Very nice! When will you get it delivered? Will knitting friends with pointy stix be allowed on the sofa? With regards to the dogs I can only tell you that we keep a blanket for ours on the sofa. Or you have to train them not to get up anymore. Which might be tough on your patience...

Okay, as one of your middle-aged (but still very hip)podcast listeners, my advice take the cat to the vet and have her nail done. Then, get knitting and have a couple of cozy throw to toss over these leather pieces. Awesome!!
