How long did it take you to learn how to spin and did you feel you should learn drop spindle before the wheel?
I have been eyeing the Ashfords on Ebay.... and the fleece.
I have been spinning on my wheel for less then a year, but I picked up a spindle 1.5 years ago for about 2 days and hated it.
I went from wheel to spindle... some people are the oppposite. So it's all up to you. Obviously getting a spindle is cheaper so its a good thing to try first, but if you hate it you can still lust after a wheel. Take a class, and if none are near you think about going to a fiber festival.

Hey there! I have been listening to your Podcast for the first time this week and I am catching up on your back casts. Anyway, I was listening to "Updates" and you were talking about the backlight on your iPod going out while you read your text notes. Did you know that under "settings" you can turn the light to "always on"? I know, the podcast is from July, so maybe someone else already told you... :) Anyway, thanks for the instructoins of putting the text file on the iPod. My husband just bought me an iPod too this past summer and I love it soooo much. Now I can combine my knitting with my favorite piece of electronics!
