Europe, here I come!

This morning when I woke up I had a letter via e-mail asking for my confirmation that I will be in Australia in 2007!! My husband and I both are on the Agenda. So exciting!

Then on Friday night we booked our plan tickets to London, and then Eurostar passes to Paris!! When I told my mom I was going to London she said "oh and Pairs!" and then I found out it's only 2.5 hours from London to Paris on the Eurostar train thing. It looks like a bullet and goes 200mph. I am freaking out! Claudia got me two really cool guides, 1 for each city (Thank you claudia!). If anyone has any hotel reccomendations in either city please let me know, also any "must-visit" yarn stores and I'll see if they will be open while I am there!

Also in other great news I was going to have to travel to Texas for work in December but that just got cancled, and in not so happy news the husband will be Traveling not to long from now for another week, no dates set yet. He has to travel ushually to kick off a new project but he won't accept any jobs that won't allow him to work from home so that's the good part.

It looks like we will be traveling a lot in 2007. We have a wedding in Hawaii in October, probably travel for work mixed in, Australia and maybe San Fran for work training. I'm dizzy already just thinking about it.

Congratulations! That's great news!

Pixie - I stayed in a B&B in South Kensington in London several years ago, I'll try to find the name for you. My friend Ginny & I stayed at a great hotel in Paris - Hotel Grandes Ecoles, it's in an artsy neighborhood off Place de la Contrascarpe, and Hemmingway lived across the street in the 1920s. You'll love the Eurostar too - looking at the English countryside was so much fun!

Go the high-flyin' jet settin' Pixie!! Sounds like you'll be having a ball! :)

Wow, all of that travel sounds fantastic. Congratulations on that exciting news. I love your blog and your podcast, so thank you.

best,
susan

sounds like you're going to be having a good time this winter. london is mild during the holidays so remember that (i spent a christmas there wearing a t-shirt and open leather jacket. i was hot) as for the boy traveling? well maybe look at some military spouse blogs. they're husbands are gone for a year + at a time and they've come up with some good ways of connecting and passing the time. maybe that'll help. (and for more totally random information, i listen to your pod cast in the bath tub.)

hope all goes well

Congratulations on getting the "gig!" I'm proud of you and your accomplishments. Knock 'em dead girl!

Hi Pixie,

I travel to London on business quite a lot and make it my personal goal to try and get to one of the yarn shops while I am there.
The best ones I have found so far are, Stash in East Putney, Loop in Islington and of course John Lewis in Oxford street. Both of the first two have websites with really good directions on how to get to them if you are intersted - just google them - hope this helps:-)

Sounds like good times! I love a busy travel schedule. We stayed home most of this year but we're headed for Australia in 2007 also.

hope you enjoy it all... if you need Paris suggestions feel free to get ahold of me :)

In Paris, if you are there when they are open, definitely check out La Droguerie. I was never able to get to them while they were open, although I walked by...here is their info.

9 et 11 rue du Jour
75001 PARIS

Tél: 01 45 08 93 27
Fax: 01 42 36 30 80

Heures d'ouverture:
Le lundi de 14h00 à 18h45 (Mon)
Du mardi au samedi de 10h30 à 18h45 (tues-sat)

If you aren't there when they are open, Le Bon Marché has yarn on their top floor, including some La Droguerie items. They also have all sorts of fun buttons, ribbons, and other embellishments.

Congrats on getting the Australia gig! How exciting, all those travel plans. Enjoy it while you can!
