Heck Yeah!

So the whole Italy trip I wanted to take never happened because of my work, husbeast’s work and then we just felt that the flight itself cost way to much. So yesterday a new plan was born when I realized I still have 11 vacation days left to use this year and I can only carry over a few. What about spending Christmas in London? The husbeast thought it was a good plan and better yet the plane fair is less then half of what Italy would have cost. I think ice skating for an hour each day, eating at fun little cafes and just generally doing nothing or whatever we want sounds lovely. Wish me luck, I hope it all works out!

Have you ever been to London? I want to find a nice reasonable place to stay that would be near ice skating. Sumerset House and Marble Arch looks like the most popular ones.

In knitting news, I have worked very hard on my two sleeves! I had to frog a row a few times or work a few more on one because somehow they weren’t even despite the fact that I was very diligent about making sure I worked them even. I think it will be easier now that I have reached the Stockinette, and hopefully faster then seed stitch.

Salina Sleeves

I also got my Flu shot today, it hurts if I raise my left arm. Hrmm, will this effect my knitting tonight??

Flu Shot

Please excuse me while I sit here and dream about London.

I'd stick with socks for the night (I got a flu shot Friday). Your arms don't have to move too much knitting those.

I LOVE London. I'm not sure about places to stay near ice skating areas, but I do know that B&Bs tend to be the better way to go in London. At least, that's always been my experience. I'm so jealous! Have tons of fun. Also, you may want to look into flights from London to different places in Italy. You never know, you might be able to afford a day or two trip to Italy anyway.

Ooh Oooh OOoooh! - London is only about an hour away from here by train. I'm afraid I know absolutely nothing about accommodation (I can ask around if you want) - but, but, but - I'd love to get the chance to meet you for real...

Think about whether or not you want to travel to Cambridge (lots of old pictureskew colleges), or I could arrange to meet you somewhere in London (Stash sounds good.)

I spent one christmas in reading which is a 20 min train ride from london when I was a little girl and it was Marvelous and we went to the ballet and the patomines and all that wonderful english holiday good stuff. No skating though

On Salina intresting that you choose to do the cuffs and sleeves all in one as opposed to sewing the cuff on afterwards

LONDON?!!! Ooooeerr how excitement! A white Christmas (she says from down under sunny Oz) with ICE SKATING!! *drifts dremily away*
How brilliant, Pixie I hope it all comes together and you get to go :)

Thanks for your comment on my Salina! Hey, you've got a great stash!

AWE - the band aid is cute. ;-) Hope it didn't hurt too much. The sleeves look great. Keep going and you will be done in no time! I need to look where I stayed when I went to London. I might still have some travel guides. I AM SO GREEN WITH ENVY! You'll love it!

Hm...I have some friends that were in London last January. They loved it and seriously considered moving there for a few years.

And Boo! flu shots. I took one of those once in my life and promptly felt ill. I know you're not supposed to get sick from a flu shot, but the nurse administering the shot was still in the building and she even told me to sit down and have water and crackers before suggesting I go home.

I've only had flu-like symptoms once or twice that went away after 24 hours and never the flu. I'd like to thank my superior genes of multi-ethnic diverseness :-)
