The big decision
This probably sounds silly to you, but my husband and I had a "serious" conversation about if a computer would be coming with us to Europe. We are both pretty much attached to our computers and they do come in handy on trips, watching DVDs, recharging your iPod, surfing while at the Airport etc.
So we came to the conclusion that we really shouldn't have a computer distracting us on our vacation, so no computer will be coming with us. I realize now I have never charged my iPod any way but through my mac and I am wondering if I even have a wall charger for it.
We spent the weekend finishing up errands, and I backed up my old Mac onto my new one. My sister is going to be getting my 12" for XMAS and she's very excited about it. I'm so happy to finally be able to have her benefit from all my computers. We also decided to sell the old dreaded but powerful alienware that we had so many bad experiences with. It's still a dang good computer so we are hoping to fetch something over $500 for it.
When a girl is about to go on a long flight and needs knitting to keep her company (sans computer) what’s she to do? Why go to the best knitting store in Atlanta of course! On Sunday, Claudia, Jacquie and I went to Knitch and had a blast; we stayed most of the day. I only have 1 more inch on my Sahara before the little bit of short row shopping at the hem; I hope to get through most of that tonight.
So well I am too busy to take photos but I thought I would share with you my travel yarn;
Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk - Fingerless gloves in a design I have in my head (2 balls, in a pale green)
Elsbeth Lavold Hempathy - Baby Surprise Jacket (4 balls in a wonderful rose color)
Jade Sapphire Mongolian Cashmere 2-ply - Wine & Roses mitts (1 ball 400 yards) See more...
Elsbeth Lavold Silky Wool - No idea! They had 1 ball left so probably fingerless gloves again. It was too pretty a color to resist.
I am so excited that Knitch is carrying the Elsbeth Lavold stuff; in fact they have my two favorite yarns (Silky Wool & Hempathy) I just wish Hempathy had more colors. I'll gush about Knitch some more. We met some wonderful knitters there; everyone at the table was delightful and kind. I had that yummy coffee they provide, and then shortly after some water because I had a bit too much caffeine! I have some cool knitted items to show off (from a friend) but I'll wait until I can photograph them properly.

Kudos on leaving the computer behind, you're a lot braver than I am. I always say "I don't need my computer on my vacation", but it always ends up coming along. Although, carting it to Europe could be a bit of a hassle, so you made the right choice. Have a wonderful trip!

Hey, I do have a wall charger for the ipod and I'll even loan it to you, BUT . . .
Do you have a converter?

Look at all that delicious yarn listed there! I am so truly envious (but happy friendly envy) of the Knitch store and the other fabulous ones you guys have over there! We have a couple of nice ones here in Perth, but none as lavish and.. immersable as yours! Yum yum! Fabulous travel knitting Pix! Good job! :)

Hey Brandy,
I just moved from NYC to Macon, GA. I stumbled on your podcast with all my newfound freetime. I just started blogging, so my blog is still a bit messy, but I love your to do list!
