Amigurumi Crochet

if you are into Amigurumi I found some great patterns over at Roxycraft Amigurumi, I want the "Emotional Animals" set. She also wrote this cute rabbit crochet pattern from Lion Brand, along with this very cute rory the reindeer. How about a little Johnny Depp Amigurumi?? Etsy is FULL of really cute patterns.

I think those little Amigurumi are terribly cute and stylish. You can get really creative with them because they are made from such simple shapes and it's all about what you add to them. I'm starting with the octopode and some patterns so I can "learn" to crochet and if I finish this little octo it will be my first FINISHED crochet object hah.

Octopode

She still needs a few legs (5 to be exact) and I hate my join, I saw in some other photos of the same pattern others had the same problem. How do I make a invisible seam with crochet? I used the slip stitch method, they have you knit the bottom seperate so you can stuff it and put the eyes in and attach the legs... but the seam annoys me, but I'm going to finish it anyway. I don't know if it's the wool ease or just my stitches as I did go down several hook sizes as instructed, but it stretched out awful once I stuffed it and you are supposed to stuff it firm. Maybe the red heart will be better, it seems pretty popular with these little toys probably because of how stiff it is.

Huggable Hedgehog

I have wound up oddly happy with my hedgehog now that I am working on him again, believe it or not this photo is only after the first set off short rows, I have 2 more sets to go before I will be done with the back. I just love the colors and the sparkly yarn. Any tips for how to get all the hair to come out of one side or do people just normally pull at it a bit and not care if it all comes through?
