Hedgy-Hog
Well I sucked it up and got the paws completed and didn't care how bad they looked, and I picked up the 77 stitches all around and even though i got one or two holes (because I would have liked to have picked up more then it said!) I didn't rip. "It's going to be felted" was the mantra I used to keep myself going. I'll just fil it in later if I have to with scraps or something and sew it up a bit if need be.
I am using Fizz, along with some sort of sparly Crystal Palace yarn and then the Cascade 220, so 3 strands held together. It's going to be one hairy hedgy! Tonight I get to do the short row shaping along the back so hopefully I will be done with it soon. I've been having a hard time motivating myself to do anything at all. I REALLY want to learn to crochet better and I did try some but I hated my stitches. I want to make one of these. How freakin cute is that? Crochet toys are adorable. Happy Hooker also has a cute crochet animal that I also wouldn't mind making. I looked at my nearbye yarn stores for a crochet class, and none of them have any! I just like the motivation it gives me. I know I could teach myself but a class is a big motivator.

Cute octo's!!
Crochet is easy. I have a site bookmarked that shows animated crocheting, if that isnt enough...we could do a octo together and see if we can both figure it out.
I know little crochet, enough to get me by... but would love to know more. Plus, those Octo's would make perfect gifts for my nieces this Christmas.
Just let me know!

I did the little hedgy as well, I had LOTS of holes and messed up plenty (it was my 1st project after learning how to knit) and after it was felted she was gorgeous =)Your hedgy will be wonderful - good luck!

I'm sure you will be able to make an octopus! www.crochetme.com had a special on Amigurumi (japanese crochet animals) here http://www.crochetme.com/assembling-amigurumi and there were patterns for a worm, a little man and a mushroom. The hardest part is the beginnning. Make sure you use a crochet marker (with a hook not a ring) for the beginnning of your rounds or it can be a bit confusing.
