I have a problem

I have a problem, and it involves Vera Bradley. I have no earthly idea why I love her bags so much. NO IDEA! I've never been a purse girl until her purses. People would always ask me all the time, don't you need your wallet? I would just pull my debit and drivers lisence out of my back jean pocket, good to go.

Vera Blue Java

So then it started on our honey moon. I won like $300 at some slots and at the airport I purchased 1 vera bradley bag with a few accessories (I spent $100 total). I had always wanted to try one so I treated myself. The addiction began.I have atleast 4 of her patterns now, and in my still favoriter pattern I have 2 of the bags a big one and a little one.

What I like about them best is they are cotton, and extremly light weight. They have never hurt my shoulder. I have had neck issues for years so this was important to me. Now her patterns are loud, often too loud for my tastes but I still get them anyway, often with the matching stuff. Well 1 month ago I purchased a "baby bag" that has pink and green and blue in it and it will match a few things because of the pink so I was very happy with it, I still am. But today in the mail I got the NEW cataloge and WOW there is like 4 patterns in there I WANT! COVET!!

I once tried the brown quilted bags she has, I adore them because they are SOLID and go with more things, the quilted look is neat because I quilt and I like that and then you can mix and match her louder patterns as accessories for them. However, they are microfiber, way heavier then the cotton ones and dog hair STICKS to them like crazy, I got one once and returned it, I was pretty disapointed. It looked SO cute too, I wish she did cotton solid ones, or even offered the accessories in solids so it was more toned down.

So yeah the catalog, beutiful photos, these online ones arn't nearly as nice looking as them in the catalog. I covet Cambridge which of course has blue and green in it. Mod Floral Pink is really cute if you like pink, so now I am wishing I had kept the receipt for the pink set I got which is way more "summer". It even has bits of green and pink. ARGH!!!

I don't think the individual item photos online are very flattering, but in the photos with people in normal enviroments they are just *pretty*. I know I really shouldn't, how long do you think I can hold out??

You're not alone, Pixie! The lure is amazing. I received one as a gift, then bought a couple on eBay, but the fall patterns are just gorgeous!

I hope you're feeling good. I enjoy your blog!

I didn't even know who Vera was until Christmas when I recieved one of her bags as a gift. I love it. I prefer bags with longer straps and this one just has "hand" handles... so I dont use it as often. My thing with her stuff... is that it is totally NOT what I would buy for myself... but would use all the time if given as a gift. kwim?

I do love how durable it is. I've stuck several knitting projects in mine, along with wallet and day planner and there was still room to spare... AND felt as if there was nothing in it. Great bags!

BTW, I still haven't started my Octo. Bad me.

I am surprised you don't have her luggage in that color pattern yet!!
I had been debating about it when it 1st came out but never did it. I don't own anything Vera yet, but that was the 1st time I actually considered! :o)

I feel the same way. I got a large pink elephants bag in June and was told it should be my school bag (for going back and forth to work) so I had to get a matching lunch bag. Now I just ordered a hobo bag for my mother's birthday. They are addictive.

I hear you! My first Vera purchase was a giant miller bag in Seaport Navy, to use as a knitting bag. At the time I was working at a local store that sold them and I couldn't understand the appeal / the pull that these patterns had over people. And since then Vera has improved those patterns (in my opinion) and now I've got quite the assortment of the smaller bags and accessories. I was even paid in Vera at that store once in lieu of "overtime". Peeking at the fall catalog, I'm quite impressed and may put one on the Christmas wishlist :) I really want to see the curvy tote in person! The good thing is that they do hold up so nicely - so I think you really get your money's worth!

Now I have a problem. I had never seen her bags before and now I have to have the Backsack in Mesa...you are such an enabler! :)

Girrrrrl - welcome to the club! I have so many Vera's that I'm totally embarrased to say how many. I hadn't see the Fall collection yet, but now I think I'm a fan of Kensington. Gonna have to check them out at Parson's in Duluth. BTW - is your black & white dog a Border Collie? I have one (and 2 schnauzers)and he's the smartest dog I've ever seen. Kinda scary 'cause sometimes I think he's smarter than me!

i love this bag it is so cute and i would wear it any where. I love brown!!!!!!

My miller bag, the best knitting bag in the world, is so old the pattern was retired in 2001. I use jewelry rolls for my circular needles and smaller totes for small projects. They really do hold up well, stand up stuffed with yarn and projects. My old miller has been around the world several times and still has a lot of miles in it. In fact, I wish it would wear out so I could replace it. The only problem I have is that Vera discontinues patterns I like pretty soon after premiering them.

LOL, I had some similar sentiments and have made my handbags and purses for at least the last 4 years. But last week I longed for a new purse, and one that I didn't have to sew/ knit/ felt etc. I stumbled into a VB vendor and quickly fell in love with the Lindsey bag in Mod Floral Pink. Now I have a few accessories and am getting a diaper bag for our baby on the way. I think I've started something. I don't know if it's such a good thing though for a mommy on a budget.
