Potter Madness
I went to see the movie last night, no spoilers here from me but you will get my general impressions. I read some reviews about it and here are a few general things they mentioned;
1) Not enough screen time for the adult actors
I have to disagree here, there was lots of screen time for the adults, and after all they arn't the leads so obviously they don't get the most screen time. I was very happy with the balance
2) Luna is fantastic
Lunda was an example of good casting, she certainly didn't blow me away but I enjoyed all her scenes! She was good but not all like they seemed to talk about in the articles.
3) Least favorite book of the series
I never had heard that before these articles I read, I don't know which book is my favorite but movie was it would have to be POA which was simply brilliant so I also like the book of course. I like them all. I think probably the first book because it was too short, and plus the kids are much younger then and a bit harder for me to relate too.
4) "luke-warm" reviews
After seeing Spider Man 3, which lacked a plot, and Pirates 3 which had an even WORSE plot I think HP was the best movie I have seen all summer. It was wonderful. I don't know what people want out of these movies. It's SO HARD to make a good sequal let alone a good 5th movie. I can personally say I don't think ANY of the potter films has been a failure. Yes I liked some more then others but they have all been good. I can watch them all again and again.
My over-all review
This movie seemed to have less "action" in the first half, but ya know what, I liked it! It was so nice to have a movie focus on charachter development and story vs just a bunch of stuff getting blown up like those other two movies I mentioned. It was wonderful, and like any "classic" you will be able to watch it 20 years from now and still enjoy it. I still like POA better, but I loved this movie and it was eveything I would want it to be. I didn't want it to ruin the story, I didn't want it to be a bomb. I just wanted it to be a GOOD movie, and it was.
I cried after one of the last scenes, it was done so well. I couldn't help it but my eyes welled up! I wish there was more to that one last scene but well that's what our imaginations are for and if a movie leaves you wanting more but not feeling dis-satisfied I would call that a success.
I wish I could see it a second time, but I was pretty uncomfortable in the seat (it was a nice seat even!) so I doubt that will happen, I so can't wait for the book now. it got me all ramped up, however I don't think I can take it if they kill off Harry, Hermoine or Ron.

I agree, it was a great movie and well done by the cast. I just wished a few things were left in, but other than that, it did follow the book very well.

OOTP isn't my favorite book, either--too much angry, "CAPSLOCK Harry" (though the climax is great). If pressed, I'd say that--so far--my two favorites are the first and Goblet of Fire. That's the book that changed everything and it just blew me away, that she was willing to go that far for the sake of her story. Book 2? Probably my least favorite. Book 6? Not one of the best, I don't think, but chock-full of all KINDS of great information . . .

Good review! Thanks! :) I think my favourite book is Prisoner of Azcaban ... not sure though because I adore all of the books.

I can't wait to see it! This was actually one of my favorites of the books. WHat I'm really looking forward to is book 7, though. Thanks for the review!
