The Boonies

I live in the boonies, we don't even have bookstores... and I'm wondering when I can get my copy of *the book* and I'm getting anxious, and thinking of all the people around the world who will be in bed tonight reading till 4am and it's just fun. More fun then the iPhone if you ask me!

So Mouse mentioned to me some places besides bookstores might be selling them, so I called Kroger by my house. Now remember, we have no bookstores within a 20 minute drive, and no Walmart doesn't cont because the one near my house has 2 shelves for books.

So the poor Korger lady had clearly been answering the same questions so she says "yes we will sell it after midnight, NO i don't know the price, NO i don't know how many copies we have". Wow I said, have you been getting lots of calls for it? She said, those are the ONLY calls she has had from 2pm when she started working and LOADS of people have called.

I wonder if this Kroger knows it's the closest thing to a bookstore we have in this littel town? I wonder how many copies they have. I'm not sure I can convince my husband to go all the way back to Alpharetta to Barnes N Noble tonight, and again thats the only major bookstore within like 30 miles of my house so well that's gonna be one hell of a line. So we might attempt kroger around 11:30 if I am awake enough.

WOW, now that's what I call committed to being a fan. I hope you get your book sooner rather than later.

Wal-Mart carries the Harry Potter books, but I can see why you wouldn't want to buy the last one from them--they tend to eat up smaller stores alive.

I feel your pain! The nearest one is 30 minutes and my nearest Wally World (or the one I prefer) is about 15 to 20 minutes away. I can't wait for this coming afternoon (hoping that I don't have to wait too late).

So? Any luck? I actually am going to wait until my co-worker reads hers and then lends it to me. I don't own any of the others as I just started reading them 2 summers ago (which was actually great because I could read them all in a row! No waiting!). Now I just have to avoid all media spoilers until I can read it! Hope you got your copy!

Hi,

I've only just discovered your podcast and wanted to tell you that I love listening to it while I'm knitting and when I'm out walking. I think it's great and I can't wait for you to do another one. But on the subject, I live in the UK and got my "book" this morning and have read about ten chapters already as I have to give it to my dad after (I'm 32 and he's 61!!). But I will just say that chapter 5 was a bit emotional and that's all I'm saying. It's very good so far though!
