Autumn Rose Raglan Pullover - Eunny Jang
Okay as I haven’t knit in a week and figured I needed to come up with some knitting content, so I give you this treasure. I didn't want to share it because secretly i wanted to knit it before you even knew about it. But with my track records in FO's we know that will happen like, never. Unless it's a baby sweater! Hah.
So anyway, work is kicking my butt, and making me miserable and so all I have had energy to do is re-watch all the Harry Potter movies and surf the internet. I found this;

My big issue is the colors. I went out onto the internets and found some examples being knit, this one in particular caught my eye. Look how RED that is. It put the word ROSE back into the name of the pattern, but the photo of it on Eunny on her blog, and the photo of the model show a far more muted and earthy tone of red-ish brown. I'm disappointed, I don't like to wear a lot of red anyway. So I contemplated some other color-ways...
The bottom has the original and the top is my variation. I don't think I'm brave enough to make the purchase though, what if my colors suck?? I really want to see it knit in some different colors. It would be easier to change the colors if it wasn't, oh I don't know, 12 freakin different colors! So if you hadn't seen this pattern now you have and I bet your eyes nearly popped out of your head. Raglan Fair Isle with Feminine shaping and modern appeal. ME WANT!
In other news work sent me out Friday to some of our sales stores to interview people to get to the bottom of a problem and on the way home a huge rock hit my windshield and now I have to have my brand new car's windshield replaced. Hope it doesn't freakin leak. It was 5 days old when it happend, and if I hadn't been out for work it wouldn't have happend. Of course I'm very happy and thankful nothing worse happend. Did I mention I'm not that thrilled with work right now? ARGH!!! I had one days notice I had to go out too, wouldn't have changed anything but like at 36 weeks I don't think I should be running around Atlanta in 90 degree weather by myself, NOT FUN!!

I've been waiting for that pattern to come out ever since I saw it over on her blog. I think your colors are great, the blues and greenish teals are really beautiful.

what if you just buy the pattern first? this way you can try out several shades in photoshop/etc to see what will work well.
i'm not that experienced with colorwork but i'm a bit afraid that your colorway doesn't have enough contrast to make up the bold circles. i like blue/brown/yellow but maybe the ones on the right need to be a bit darker?

Dear Pixie,
wow - that kind of work at 36 weeks?? Over here in Germany you would be two weeks into maternity leave already! It ia 6 weeks before and 8 weeks after the birth...
Take care!!!!

I thought that I was going to comment on your post, but it looks like I'll end up commenting on other comments.
I agree with Jody that maybe you should keep darker colors for those two hanging out on the right.
And sakes I would KILL to be able to have that kind of maternity leave!!

AW MAN! That stinks about your windshield! I like the colors that you picked, but I understand your trepidation. That's a pretty complex bunch of patterns. Hope work gives you a break soon!

I can't believe your new car got hit by a rock! I had that happen to me once and it was like the rock came flying at me in slow motion and I couldn't stop it - that sucks! Love the blue in the colors you picked...

That's such a gorgeous sweater. I saw it in an ad in Interweave Knits and made a (since forgotten) mental note to look it up, so thanks for that link! So, so pretty. I'm sorry to hear about your windshield, though. If it helps, I've never had a replaced windshield leak . . . (I know, that's not the point, it's brand NEW!)
Jenny says;
Is work going to pay for your windshield? I got a flat tire (ran over a metal pin) while I was on a work errand and they paid for my new tire. I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask & they said yes, so you might want to give it a try.

Personally, I love your color combo! I love muted colors but just about every version of this sweater that I've seen, has muted colors... almost every single one!
I love that your 36 weeks. It's almost time!!
Im sorry to hear about your windshield... what a pain!

I love that sweater too! I had emailed Eunny Jang directly to ask when and where it would be available, and have been eagerly awaiting the book ever since (I haven't seen it in my local bookstores yet). Thanks for posting the link to the kit! I MUST knit this beautiful sweater!!
