Getting back
Well wow I made it 6 weeks! Wahoo! It's a good feeling. Things are so much better physically now. I till can't fit my wedding rings on, thats annoying! My stomach is nothing like it used to be and thats truley frustrating. Ya don't know what ya got till it's gone I guess. Even my belly button is different. Maybe one day they will look more semi-like-they-did-before. I've been getting out of the house lots and we are having signs of the baby sleeping through the night, this means MORE KNITTING! Once she is sleeping consistantly for 6 or 7 hour intervals, that means when she goes to bed I don't have to go running to the bed, I can stay up for an hour or two and knit.
The truth is like right now while she's sleeping I'm on the computer, when I could be knitting. I am a computer nerd though so I have to say it's sort of more important then the knitting time. I've been on a computer 8+ hours a day for the past nearly 10 years. It's a hard habbit to break. Most importantly though for when I go back to work I need to make sure my eyes are still accustomed to looking at the monitor that long, and that my hands are used to being used that much. You would be suprised what the lack of doing either of those for a few months can do when you try to go back again. I saw with knitting, as I had all that hand pain after I didn't knit for those 3 or 4 months and then tried to go back at full force.
I have decided to hold off on the tangled yoke cardi, too small a gauge... for some instant gratification I'm going for the Minamalist Cardrigan from the same issue of IK. I'm using my wonderful Art Fibers Satori. I started on 9's, switched to 8's and after this photograph now trying 7's to get gauge. Something about k1p1 always seems to open up the stitches too much.
So last night baby girl slept for 6 or 7 hours, and then a 4 hour stint before morning. So total I got 6 or 7 hours sleep last night, kick ass! Here for your entertainment is a cute video of baby girl if your interested in seeing her "in real life" heh, listen to her talk!

Isn't 6 weeks just a wonderful milestone. It really does start to get easier. (Doesn't mean that it's completely straightforward from now on in, but it's much better.)
She is SUCH a cutie - I love the 'conversation'.

I think it's cute too, her litle nose is her button. lol. So darn cute!
I think most knit bloggers are alike in the fact that we have several addictions, fiber, needles, things to sew to make our knitting/crocheting/spinning lives easier, computers (blogging, games, hunting for patterns, blah..blah...blah)... many hobbies.
Hobbies makes the world go round! Well, and little sweethearts like Sydney! :o)

Aww - thanks for posting the video. She is just so sweet! I miss when my baby was that small! Mine was born at the same time of the year (same day if I remember right) and it was so exciting to have all the holidays to look forward to with her. All the outfits to wear!!
6 weeks was a big turning point for us as well. She started sleeping through the night and I began to feel like I really could do this mommy thing.

Oh she is amazing. Congrats on your 6 weeks mark. Well, your belly and belly button will go back to almost normal. It takes time, maybe in a couple of months. I still have a little bit of stretch marks at the very bottom of my belly. I am saving that for my next child to stretch that out. Thanks for keeping us updated on your knitting and your beautiful little girl. Good luck with the sleeping!

Congrats on all the sleep!!! And making it 6 weeks (now almost 7!) We're there too, but Satya has decided that sleeping for long stints at a time is overrated...she's still getting up like twice during the night, but at least she's pleasant about it!
I am thrilled to hear that you can't get your wedding rings on yet either! I am finally able to wear my wedding band, but not my engagement ring. I was worried that I'd have to get it re-sized, so this gives me hope!
Sydney is just such the cutie!!
