Right side complete!
So here is the right side of the cardi, all done! I didn't get to knit over the weekend, my best knitting time seems to be durring the week but monday was "chore" day meaning when baby girl slept I did stuff that needed doing. Then I felt kinda ill so yesterday was "sleep" day and I slept every time she slept. So today was knit day, meaning she's sleeping right now so I can blog or knit! I've started a sleeve next as I think it will go faster and I always never finish sleeves so why not tackle atleast one of them right off the bat?
So I've gone walking two days in a row with the other baby-momma's in my 'hood and it was lots of fun. I walked way longer then I ever would have alone. One entire hour each day. I was exhausted! One of the ladies has a girl with red curly hair, the same age as baby girl. I loooved her hair. I am wondering still how baby girls hair is going to look. It's getting longer or thicker or something, but it's still very thin. I'm just excited she hasn't gone bald like some babies do. The other women ahs a 4 month old boy who is bald, hah. My goal for today is to take my camera so I can record how pretty the walk is!
Check out this cute kit from Morsehouse Farm. I saw it on Alisan's "The Blue Blog" and had to order it up. Now some of you who have been reading me a while know I am Jewish and wondering what are you doing with a Santa hat Pixie? Well I was raised to celebrate both Chanukkah and Christmas, the thing is we don't celebrate Christmas from a religious perspective, more as an american holiday (my father is Irish/Catholic so he was raised celebrating Xmas). I hang out on some forums for moms with new babies and it was interesting because the other day one girl was saying she also celebrated Xmas as an american holiday not from a religious perspective. Now this p'd a lot of people off. Some of them said if you put up a tree and gave presents then you had indeeded celebrated Xmas and therefor you are celebrating a religious holiday. 90% of them said you couldn't celebrate it as just a holiday. Funny thing was about a week later someone posted some sort of speech or something by a Jewish man named Ben Stein or something like that. He was saying how he loved Xmas and he saw nothing wrong with celebrating it as just a holiday and not neccisariliy a religious experience. He was getting to the point that he didn't get upset if he saw a Xmas tree etc, ya know the whole "war on Xmas" thing.
Well funny thing was he was basically saying he celebrated it as just a holiday in that respect, and all those same women on that forum all applauded this and kept posting it and saying "everyone read this". I found this very amusing when the week before they all basically argued with a Jewish person who put up a tree in order to join in on the festivites. Kind of hipocritical isn't it?
So anyway, I'm going to knit baby girl a cute santa hat. I almost wish it was green so it could be an elf hat, but I suppose I could knit another one!

Getting big! She is very cute!! Some women are just nuts. I think it is very nice that you are going to share both of your traditions with your little one.

That hat is so cute, I don't think it matters one bit. Lots of non-Christians get really into the secular/American part of Christmas--it's a HUGE holiday in Japan, for instance--so I say you do what makes you happy. :)

Yeah, that's funny about the Xmas tree and whatnot - I think they should look up where that came from before they start bickering about religion - lol Not that I think bickering about religion is a smart thing to do in blogland. (but whatever)
Your WIP looks grand and I love the daddy/daughter pics! =) aaawwwwwww

your cardigan looks lovely so far. i always have to laugh at those people who have to say "you can't do that, you can't do this" because my answer is always "sure i can. look! i just did!" =]

Gotta love Ben Stein! Don't listen to those crazy women... knitting a santa hat doesn't make you a Christian any more than eating a bagel makes me Jewish!
