Australia, Save Me!

I have a question for anyone reading this who live sin Australia.

I have been on a journey for years, with my curly hair. Yes, a journey! All the elastic hair ties in american, even the stupid ones that say they won't hurt... do indeed pull at your hair and hurt.

When I was in Australia at "Witchery" (I believe thats a chain store out there like Banana Republic is here) at the front desk checking out there was some lovely little hair ties in a bin. I purchased a few. I have one left (4 years later!) and I really want more, they don't snag or hurt at all. Do you know of anyplace online to buy those same hair ties? I can post a photo if needed. I would also be interested in a swap/trade of some sort if they aren't available online and someone was willing to go pick some up.

Oh look, they do still have them! Witchery Hair Elastic, however $30 is way to much to pay for shipping. I think it's possible to send something that light for much cheaper...

OH LAW!!!!!! that is dear. Pity I didn't see this blog earlier. I'm sure there are similar over here. Postage should only be equivelant to $6 max. Let me know if you interested

Obviously, I don't live in Australia, but I have a ponytail-elastic recommendation for you anyway--hair bungees. They have little hooks at either end--you hook one end into your hair, wrap it around until it's tight, then hook in the other end to secure. Easy as anything AND the most secure elastic I've ever tried. And--even better--because you're not pulling your hair through it, it doesn't damage your hair, and you can get the placement of the ponytail perfect.

In other words, I love them.

Hey Pix! I'm a West Australian, and I'm happy to hunt them out for you - or at least try!! :)

hey pixie, funnily enough they are charging for postage WITHIN Australia almost as much as to ship to the US! it's unbelievable! i'd be happy to help out. i will have a look at the store next time i am in town if you like. :0)

If they sell them in NZ I can get my mum to send some to you. Just lmk. I like the Scrunchi hair elastics though They have no join and don't snag. I have thick curly hair thicker than you from the looks of the pics

Hi there!
I am in Melbourne and will have a look for you next time I pass a Witchery store..

My three daughters also have curly hair and I know they have used the same hair elastics that are pictured. Would you like me to check and see where they get them and let you know/send you some? Be happy to do it.

Susan

I have somewhat curly hair, and use the snagless ones from Target. They don't have metal bits, and stay in my hair rather well.
