Knots of Yarn Georgia

After hearing on Ravelry that there was a new yarn shop up in Northern Georgia I had to go! It's now the closest LYS to my house, and I hadn't seen any reviews in the blog-sphere yet so I thought I would oblige.

I went on today (friday) as I couldn't image not going someplace today, it was 60 and sunny and wonderful. Of course I don't need to buy yarn, but I should support a new business shouldn't I? We also found a lost check I didn't realize I had received from work so a little treat was in order.

Knots of Yarn is adorable. I was very happy with it! it's nice and spacious and has loads of yarn that I hadn't heard of before, and lots I had. They had Mmmmmmalibrigo, Rockstar and other various Tilli Tomas, loads of Plymouth, Noro, and lots of german yarns I can't spell or remember the name of. She had ROVING, lots of neat pencil roving, wheels that looked to be for sale, looms, and loads of crochet hooks, nice ones with wooden handles of a brand I have not heard of but that looked really nice. She also had wooden circulars by a brand I have never heard of but they too looked nice.

She had Buffalo roving and yarn, and buttons and pretty glass-handmade shawl pins. Colinette kids, and some of those neat little knitting/felting kits I've seen in all the hip yarn shops. I was very pleased and will be back. Also Baby Girl was babbling up a storm and one of the women said "oh she's talky isn't she" and I quickly apologized and they assured me there was no need and as I checked out said "You'll come back and see us again next time, won't you?" to Baby Girl. So they get mad points for being so sweet to me with my Baby Girl in tow, I always get a bit stressed when going into stores with her, I want to have a semi-decent shopping experience myself but when you have a baby that is simply unpredictable. Sometimes it goes amazingly well, and sometimes you just have to leave and come back later. It's mostly difficult because you have to divide your attention on two things at once.

They don't have Debbie Biss or Rowan but I was almost happy they didn't. This mean they had other stuff, and lots of nice other stuff! I would recommend stopping by! The staff was friendly and helpful.

In other stuff, Baby Girl is 5 months as of yesterday. I haven't written about her as much so I thought I would update you in case your interested. She finally is very aware of her feet. Around 4 months she had kicked stuff for 2 days in a row and then never did again. Now she's back to kicking things and she even likes to grab and hold both feet at the same time. It's so cute. She does "sit ups" all the time now so I guess she is working on sitting up. She loves to swirl and wave her hands through the air and look at them, she's been doing that for weeks now. She has been able to roll back to front for a long while, and had a week of being able to then roll back to her back.. but after thwapping her head twice on the bathroom floor while doing this, she seems to have given it up for the time being. I had her on two bathrugs laid out together while I showered, but when she rolled she made it farther then before and I just didn't get to her fast enough. Bad mommy!

Ami

Here she is holding my little Amigurumi bear. I'm not happy with the bear as he/she is still too big, but I'm determined to finish it and atleast let her play with it. I'm going to call it "wasabi" bear because of how green it is. I hate to go down a needle size as those clover comfort grips don't get any smaller, so I might have to try different yarn and see if that helps. I ordered the eyes from Japan and I really like them.

There is the "back" to the minimalist cardi, shug-shug along!
