scouting for test knitters

Out of the blue I had an idea, and I cast on and amazingly it has worked out so far to the inch as intended. Of course I havn't tried it on BG yet, but it looks good. I'm not sure what I'll do with the pattern, submit it to knitty, make it available on my site or magknits. I have no idea. I want to finish it first.

I am looking for one or two test knitters who would be interested in knitting it. I have nothing to offer at the moment, though I might think of something later. I most certainly could go stash diving and provide compensation that way if you don't mine a few stray dog hairs possibly on the outside of a skein or two :) no baby drool though, promise!

What you would be knitting: A summer top for baby, out of sock yarn, 6st to the inch and you would need to have enough sock yarn to make an adult pair of socks (as thats how much I am using. I have a 100g ball which I think is way more then enough).

If you had a baby to put it on (friend, knit friend, relative) that is even better so we can make sure the size fits. Or you can send it to me and I'll find a baby, and then re-send back to you. If you have a baby to put it on I would like to see photos. So the test knitting is to make sure my instructions make sense, and to make sure it actually fits a child and looks nice. Right now I have it sized for a 12 month old, but I plan to make one size smaller. I'm not sure there would be enough yarn in two adult socks for an 18 month old size, but maybe there is. It's knit top down, in the round. You would need to have accurate gauge so I can make sure my math is correct! Thanks!

I'll test knit... I don't have a baby but I need to knit a bunch of baby gifts over the next little while. I'd love to be able to try your pattern out while it's still a baby. Gauge swatches don't scare me and I have lots of sock yarn.

How that for a resume?

i would definitely be interested in test knitting for you....depending how quickly you would need the end result! i have some Socks that Rock in mediumweight that I think would work.

Hi Pixie - I would love to be a test knitter for you - I've got plenty of sock yarns to choose from, and a baby to model it on (if it's a smaller size - my gal is 3 months old, fitting into ~6 month clothing). Hope to hear from you!

I'd love to give it a go - if it's not too much of a pain having a test knitter in the UK.

I'd be happy to test knit it for you. I have lots of babies around, and a very new one coming in the next couple of weeks(my friend's). Just say the word, and the knitting shall commence!

I would do test knit for you, if you still need someone :) I really like knitting with sock yarn, but I'm kind of getting *gasp* sick of knitting socks!

I have several babies to knit for... so if you need one more, just let me know!!

I'm sure you have plenty of test-knitters, but if you still need one, I test-knit for you. I have a million skeins of sock yarn. :)

Thanks! Manda

I'd be delighted to test knit for you! Lots of folks having babies right now!

Let me know if you still need test knitters. I have a baby and plenty of sock yarn.

Looks like you have plenty of Test knitters.
If you need one more keep me in mind. I have twin grandbabies to model the knitting and plenty of sock yarn. Your baby is absolutly beautiful!!
