Still No Gas in Atlanta

Loves cheese like her dad

This about express's how we feel right now in Georgia. No gas, 1/3rd of stations have gas and many people run OUT of gas while waiting in line to get some. Many, many people at my work are working from home because of this. Luckily at my job that's a possibility, it's not for many other people who won't get paid if they can't get to work. I've heard the rest of the country isn't have a problem, even Texas and area's more heavily effected by Ike, the big question is why? As for those saying it's consumer's freaking out and topping off their tanks 24/7, well the experts are full of it. Everyone I know can't find gas, and no one is willing to wait in line for an hour burning gas, just to top off their tank. Most of us are simply filling up once a week IF WE CAN and then just not going anyplace except work and the grocery store.

BG has been sick sense friday (but on the mend) and I was bad sick yesterday, but today my head doesn't hurt nearly as much so I guess I'm on the mend too. I am crossing my fingers the husbeast doesn't get sick. As for knitting, I am working on a new fall/winter design, had to frog it when it was 80% done because I didn't like the speed at which I was decreasing for some shaping. I'll have pics soon once I have a cute FO to put on BG.

Here is some pretty yarn for you to look at;

Kauni Suprise

I want to squish it all day. I have in mind for it a very particular project but it involves some skills I don't currently have. Research time!

Wow! I can't believe the gas situation, that's awful. Sorry you guys have been sick, we were all sick a week ago (for my birthday, what a nice present, huh?)
The Kauni is gorgeous. I too would like to knit something with it, but requires more skills than I have or have time to learn!
Looking forward to seeing your new design!

Donna says;

Sending healthful good thoughts your way! Both my daughter and I have sore throats today, but I'm hoping it's just allergies or something.

The gas situation here seems to be getting worse, not better. Forget about finding anything except regular unleaded, too. One of our cars is supposed to run on premium, and we cannot find gas for it. I shut off my car when waiting in line for anything these days. Husband said he'd read somewhere that it saves gas whereas people think that cranking the car over again uses more gas than idling. I'm not going to be one of those people running out of gas at the service station, knock on wood! :)

I read this article about the gas shortage today and it makes sense to me. Hope things come around for you soon! http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig6/bilger2.html

Pensguys says;

Gas is still scarce here in Augusta too. My dh read in our paper that it should be back to normal by Oct. 11. That is WAY too long!

April says;

Weird, we never had any trouble, wonder if it's a transport problem? We are so close to so many refineries, there's not too much to worry about.

pretty yarn, tho =)

Lauren says;

I just flew to see family in TN, then drove down to Atlanta for a HS reunion. I was shocked by the gas situation! I eventually visited a friend in a smaller suburb and after waiting in line for an hour was able to fill up (for $4.40/gal), but I was afraid of a much more extended visit than planned! Hope things have improved in the past few days :-)
