Chamonix Update, er Rewind
Chamonix (316 st)

Well last night I was nearly done with my 3cm of 1x1 ribbing and I was so exicted to get to the st st because I knew it would go much faster. I realized however that for the first time in my life I had fallen victum to the dreaded twisted knitting in the round. This has never happend to me before, and I have always been weary of it. I think it's more difficult to tell when you have 316 stitches cast on a 24" needle. Yes I am nuts, a 316 stitch sweater. It's supposed to be about 44" round. I'd call that a challange! I see a lot of you guys just jumped right in and nearly took out 1/4 if not more of your projects within the first 2 days! Crazy people!

Hey Scout do you recognize that stitch marker? HEHE!! :D I'll have to post about that monday!

Update 11pm
P1010013.JPG

I have made it to the stockinette and then some, so I am pleased. I fear though I am going to get extremly bored on this, like my Harry Potter scarf (slated to be finished for the NEXT movie hehe) so I'll need to have some really interesting TV/Movies to keep me going. Did you guys hear about Michelle Quan? So crazy, I was watching 4 years ago when Hughes won, it was soo amazing. I am not a Quan fan, but she is very talanted and it is very sad. I have always been into ballet and ice skating so that's the part of the Olympics I am really waiting for.

Yarn Harlots Knitting Olympics!

So the Yarn Harlot is holding the Knitting Olympics and I am very excited! She said not to set yourself up to fail, but to have a challange. I have decided to start Dale Chamonix because it's a project I already have that I would love to work on or finish and it's related to the Winter Olympics because it's a Dale sweater and it's a ski sweater. I know entering this endevour the chanse that I actually finish it is slim to none, but my real goal is to have something to help motivate me to work on it. Maybe this time around I'll get gauge.

Dale Chamonix

At the time this pattern was out, you could actually buy the sweater for $150 on Amazon.com, the yarn cost under $70.

The Yarn is Daletta because I wanted to be able to wash it easily.

I am in hell

I worked on my scarf and I worked on the tank I'm makin with the cotton fleece my SP3 gave me. So then just about an hour ago I thought I would re-swatch for Chamonix sence I got my smaller needles. On size 2 freakin needle I am still at a little over 6 stitches per inch. I need 7, this is crazy!!! A sweater knit on 1's??? for a guy, thats a huge sweater. I'll go nuts!!!!!! AHHH!?!?!?! I must be doing something wrong.

It says 28sts and 38 rnds over st st using neddles in US size 3 = 4". Now I am not doing the swatch in the round, but I wouldn't think it would make a huge difference..

Dale Chamonix Ski Sweater

Okay I ordered more yarn.. SHHHHHHHHH don't tell my husband.. even tho its for him.

I am doing it in that exact color-way. Wanna know whats really cool? Click to go to this link at amazon.com, can you believe that? Machine knit I am sure.. but look at the price. I can make the small through kidknits for under $70. Half price! Who said buying it is cheaper? hehe..

Kid Knits had it for $20 cheaper (from the total) then anyone else, if you want Dale yarn this is the place. I got my Gerbera yarn here and it came in a week no problems. Most of it is under $5 a skein and decent yardage. It's nearly a buck cheaper a skein then all the other sites. Also I think one of the owners or women who runs it is on the Norge yahoo group and she's really nice!
