Tivovoli FO Photo Shoot

Saturday afternoon I went to Gainsville to a fun knitting gathering! I found it via JenLa's blog, it's a yahoo group. Apparently they have been meeting a few months but you would think they have been meeting for a while. Everyone was so nice and knitting all kinds of fun things!

Saturday Lunch

Before I went I had DH take photos of me in the top, but I opted not to wear it because it was fairly chilly out (below 50 all week, what the heck georgia!).

My husband is not the worlds best photog, but it gets the job done!

Finish Picovoli-Tivoli

I felt awful Monday at work, I hope Tuesday is better!

It was very dreary out Monday as well:

Late Monday night I got Picovoli finished up. I'll take some pictures of it on me if we have better weather and more sun light this week (and a good hair day!).

Update:
Tivoli Complete Detail

It's a crappy photo but it's better then nothin I guess. I felt awful again Tuesday AM, horrible headache. I think it's allergies. What should I knit tonight after I seam? I love this time, picking what to knit!

Super Bowl Challange - Finishd Handspun Hat

It was nearly one am and my left hand index finger was so sore! I spent all saturday day knitting nothing. I was indeed knitting but it was just fits and starts and rips. I wasn't motivated to work on anything amungst all the other stuff going on, so around midnight I decided to start the hat from my burgandy handspun.

I finished at 2pm today.

Durring all of this Toby insisted on sleeping on the baby cardi. It was really driving me mental but I finally just let him and prayed none of the yarn got knotted or tangled. He slept on all 4 peices.

Pixie's first "real" sock!

I had a little trouble with the last two stitches so there is a tiny bump no one but me would notice. I'm so proud!! What was odd about this sock is, it called for worsted weight yarn and 48 stitches to be cast on. I used trekking which is certainly not worsted. It fits perfectly. WEIRD! So this sock was done in Trekking XXL in color #100 using the Fiber Trends Magic Loop booklet and pattern. I'll post the details again once the set is complete! Oh it was on #2 bamboo crystal palace circs.

Please ignore my pasty Irish legs :) I am still feeling ill, I think maybe it's seriously bad allergies maybe. Sore neck, sore eyes, headache, nose ache (but not stuffy, well stuffy in the way bacl but I can breath out my nose).

Finally an FO!

A women at work who is expecting asked if I would knit her a baby hat. I am happy to report I did indeed do it. Cast on last night and finished tonight baby!

Here it is blocking on a lovely toilet paper role.

Plymouth Dreambaby DK
Acrylic / Nylon blend (Washable!)
5 1/2 sts = 1" on US 6 needles

My husband made fun of how it is being blocked and asked me if the baby had been vacum sucked out of the womb and made it have a tube shaped head. I smacked him.

I'm also excited because I started a Knitting Meetup group near my work! Alpharetta Knitting Meetup Group! and one of my co-workers already accepted, and another lady seems to have joined the group but not RSVP'd. Pretty good though for one day. I had to spend $45 to create the stupid group, I'm not investing past 3 months unless I get a decent showing.

I have a terrible runny nose, danm flu spray!! ARGHH!!

A finished sock!!

I used the incorrect version of Kitchener (sp?) stitch, I used the bind off version instead of the toe version. I'm not sure, for some reason that book has two parts on it. I am still a tad confuzzled about it!

REGARDLESS it's a finished SOCK! And this means I can get to hard work on HP this week while in Seatle!! Wish me luck on my trip!

FO - the other half

Here is the second glove in action, adjusted with a rib pattern. The gusset still has a slight hole. I'm going to keep trying to figure it out, and shorten the length of the cuff. Also I'm going to go down a needle size. The next pair I attempt will be in gray and hopefully will match and can be gifted.

I used this one today at work :)

I am a flawed knitter

What is this? Why it's a finished OBJECT ...and me working on the Picot edging on a fingerless glove!

An "Object" Indeed

My husbands comment "That's so 80's". Thanks for the support hun!!

I knit this little sucker in approx 4 hours or so. Super fast! I only got the yarn and fabric on wednesday and it's not even friday!

However I have a few words. I am a flawed knitter. We all know those blogs we know and love. The ones gloriously written by talanted knitters, they only post for FO's and stash enhancments, and you never hear to much about any mistakes they make.

I am a flawed humen being and a flawed knitter! This was my first glove, and my first gussett (sp?). The thumb if you notice has a purled end, it's supposed to be st st. There are holes on the inside in the place I cast off "2 stitches over the gap" whatever the hell that meant.

I thought I did what the instructions asked, but I guess I did not.

I am going to knit the second one next week, and see if I can't fix the mistakes I made. Then if I do manage to knit it "perfectly" I'm going to alter the pattern and replace the Picot's with more ribbing and make a pair with all the Baby Alpaca I have laying around (3 green, 3 red and 3 cream). It only takes one ball for a pair of gloves, Enough for MANY gloves!! Or maybe I'll just go ahead and change it on the second glove, and call it an experiment. Throw caution to the wind my friends!

A finished Mutli-Directional Scarf!

Well last night I went ahead and cast this little scarf off, it's been done for ages but I had not gotten around to doing the last part which i didn't have memorized and involved going onto the internet.

So there you have it!

ChicKami - FO

Click for full view

Well there I am my dorky self in my ChicKami. It's not perfect but it's my first finished top and I should be proud!

F-O for my H-O

A finished hat! It's kind of girly and well I think fairly ugly, but the husband was very proud and put it right on!

Detail of the top

Action Shot

Willow was not interested in the Hat

Toby just wanted to be loved and asked me to stop taking pictures so he could relax with dad

I still need to take some cute pics of the tank top, maybe with a better camera then these. Sci-Fi Friday!! BATTLESTAR GALACTICA comes on in 30 minutes!!

I swatched HP on some 7's and was happy with the gauge and fabric. I went to Joann's, no 12" or 16" circs. I went to Micheals. No dice. I went to Hobby Lobby. No dice. Does no one knit hats in the world? I sure don't see that terrible many people running around in hand knit sweaters. All these damn craft stores only carry 29" circs!! ARHH!! So now I will have to go to the quilt store tommorow and hope they have something besides Addi's. Cross your fingers for me, otherwise I will have to order over the net and WAIT! *pouts*

Offical FO!

I chibby'd in all the ends and added fringe!! Loverly! To bad my camera phone makes it look rather dull. I can't wait to ship it off to mom for her b-day. In other news we purchased our plan tickets via Air Canada for our trip to Nova Scotia in a few months. I CANT WAIT! Anyone know of any good knit/quilt shops near Halifax?!

I found this knit and quilt shop on a google search, woot!
