It looks like the Italian cast off is a plain tubular bind off. It seems like it's only used on a 1/1 rib, although the pics do a good job of hiding those purl sts!
LOVE the new podcast - though I was just listening and I wanted to say that for PC users (particularly first time podcasters) I'd recommend Audacity. It's free, and I used it for my podcast and I'm like, the dummyest dumb that ever dumbed: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Wanted to let you know about a couple of things. 1. Audacity is a great free program for PC users. It is easy to use and will save as mp3. 2. Hatch Town has the best drop spindles. They are hand made and well balanced. Hatch Town is usually at MSS.

podcast - KnitWit: Rantings of a Rabid Knitter
Hey, Pixie! I'm a fellow Georgia Peach (over in Decatur/Atlanta) and love the podcast. I'm sure you've figured it out by now, but you just mis-added your stiches for your Calla swatch. 24 + 2 + 2 = 28, not 30. That's where those extra two stiches came from. You're not a bad knitter, you just got in a hurry with the math. And if you're like me, once I make a mistake like that, I just can't see it.
Oh, yeah - why not just make the straps for Calla wider than the pattern, so they will hide your bra straps? That strap-showing thing is going the way of the visible thong (and not a moment too soon, as far as I'm concerned!). You can also stitch in some little ribbon tapes with a bit of velcro to hold your bra straps in place. I think you can figure this out on your own, but if not, I'l try to come up with a sketch.
Hope this helps - Lisa B.
